The future of the Italian Super Cup is taking a new turn, as Serie A president Luigi De Siervo has confirmed that the next edition will definitely not be held in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on Radio Rai, De Siervo addressed the ongoing discussions: “It’s a complicated issue. We have active contracts, but it’s already clear that the next Italian Super Cup will not take place in Saudi Arabia.”
According to reports, the league chief also outlined alternative plans. “There is an option in the United States, another international option, but we are also considering bringing the tournament back to Italy, at least for one season,” he said.
Since 2023, the Super Cup has adopted a “Final Four” format, with the last two editions hosted by Saudi Arabia. The tournament was previously held in various locations, including Italy and Qatar. The decision on the next venue is expected to be finalized in the coming months, with the league balancing commercial interests and tradition.
