In Major League Baseball action on Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays faced the Tampa Bay Rays at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. Blue Jays infielder Kazuma Okamoto, batting fourth and playing third base, extended his hitting streak to 10 consecutive games with a line-drive single to left field off Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen’s sweeper in the second inning.
Trailing 5-0 in the second, Okamoto led off the inning with that hit, followed by a single from Cavan Biggio. Then Eloy Jimenez launched a three-run homer to right field—his fourth of the season—igniting the Blue Jays’ comeback.
Okamoto had previously delivered in the Blue Jays’ game against the Los Angeles Angels, lining an RBI double to left-center field in the first inning off right-hander Jose Soriano, who had been named the American League Pitcher of the Month for March and April.
