The London World Table Tennis Championships concluded its seeded team qualifying round (group stage) on May 3 Beijing time. Following the draw ceremony, the knockout stage matchups for all teams were finalized.
In the earlier seeded team qualifying matches, the Chinese women’s team had a smooth journey, sweeping all three opponents with a 3-0 scoreline. During the third match against South Korea, Sun Yingsha took the court first against Korean player Kim Na-young, dominating the game and winning 3-0 with ease. Subsequently, Wang Yidi and Kuai Man also performed steadily, defeating Park Ga-hyun and Yoo Si-woo 3-0 respectively. After the match, Sun Yingsha noted that the Chinese players gradually found their rhythm through the qualifying rounds, better preparing for the upcoming knockout stages. She remarked, “This year’s World Championships has a few more matches, and the competition gets intense from the start. We all found our form during the group stage.”
As a result, the Chinese women’s team secured three consecutive victories and topped their group, earning the No. 1 seed position. According to the draw, they will face Poland in the round of 32. Also in the same quarter of the draw is South Korea.

Compared to the women’s team, the Chinese men’s team faced a more challenging path. After finishing third in their group, they were placed in the 24th seed position. Their first knockout round opponent will be Australia. Teams also in the lower half of the draw include South Korea and France.
