29-year-old popular American boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul has opened up about his future in the sport following a heavy knockout loss to Anthony Joshua.
“In a couple of days I’ll get new scans of my jaw. We’ll see what the doctors say, you know, whether I can even fight again. That’s definitely one of the possible scenarios. I feel much better, but I need to get clearance. It’s wild.”
“So that possibility is on the table. Your fighting future is in question.”
“Definitely. I think it all depends on how the bone heals. Plus I’m missing a tooth. I’m pretty sure I’ll need to get an implant. I don’t know how long that’ll take. I just have to look into it and figure out what’s the smartest option for me.”
“Is there any part of you that says ‘this isn’t worth it anymore’?”
“Yeah, those thoughts have definitely crossed my mind.”
“Is there someone in your life—a doctor, a family member, or anyone else—who’s trying to tell you ‘enough, stop’?”
“Yeah, definitely my doctor Arman. Shout out to Arman, but yeah, he doesn’t want me to fight again.”
“Is that Arman Tsarukyan?”
“No, no, no. My doctor, a different Arman,” Paul said on The Ariel Helwani Show.
